Mayor Hataman pushes for Commodity Investment Plan; eyes Isabela City to become coffee hub

The Isabela City government led by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman has discussed the city’s Commodity Investment Plan (CIP) for 2024-2026, with emphasis on the coffee industry.

The three-year plan aims to bolster economic development and sustainable agriculture as part of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), the city government said.

During the meeting Thursday, February 1, Hataman said that Isabela could be a potential hub for the coffee industry.

Meanwhile, the CIP is designed with several key components to achieve its project development objectives.

The local government said the plan includes a commodity prioritization criteria, resulting in the identification of the Top 10 priority commodities.

For each commodity, specific interventions have been outlined to ensure their growth and sustainability, it added.
