Zamboanga City Solidifies Medical Hub Status with Grand Opening of Expanded Rehabilitation Medicine Facility.

Mayor John Dalipe, alongside health officials, proudly revealed the newly expanded Department of Rehabilitation Medicine Building at the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) on Monday. The P19 million project underscores the city’s commitment to elevating healthcare services for residents of Zamboanga, ZAMBASULTA, and neighboring areas.

The expansion, which Mayor Dalipe described as a “great investment” during the blessing and turnover ceremony, solidifies Zamboanga City’s position as the medical capital of the Zamboanga Peninsula Region. The state-of-the-art facility now offers a comprehensive range of services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthotics-prosthetics, and medical diagnostics.

Mayor Dalipe expressed his gratitude to Majority Leader and District II Congressman Mannix Dalipe for his unwavering support in advancing the ZCMC’s plans and programs over the years. The completion of the facility is a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at meeting the healthcare needs not only of Zamboanga residents but also of those in Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi provinces.

“The triumph of this facility reinforces our position as a medical hub in the region and emphasizes our moral responsibility to address the healthcare needs of our neighbors,” declared Mayor Dalipe. He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of Chief of Hospitals Dr. Afdal Kunting and the entire ZCMC team, applauding their commitment to providing quality healthcare services.

The event was graced by esteemed personalities, including Health Undersecretary Abdullah Dumama Jr., Health Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia, OIC Director III for Health Facilities Enhancement Program Office Engr. Maximo Adan Jr., DOH-9 Regional Director Dr. Joshua Brillantes, Dr. Anton Lim of the ZC Tzu Chi Foundation, and other prominent figures.
