Mayor John Dalipe Champions Environmental Conservation on World Wetlands Day

The Politiko Environmental Commitment Shines in World Wetlands Day Planting Event.

In a concerted effort to celebrate World Wetlands Day 2024, Mayor John Dalipe led Zamboanga City in a significant environmental initiative, overseeing the planting of over 10,000 mangrove propagules across a 4-hectare coastal zone in Purok 5, Barangay Dita.

Organized by the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR), the event witnessed the participation of individuals from various sectors, agencies, and organizations. A total of 6,000 bakauan bangkaw, 3,000 bakauan babae, and 1,000 bakauan lalake propagules were planted during the activity conducted on the morning of February 2.

Mayor Dalipe commended the dedication of the participants and reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the city’s environment and natural resources. The initiative not only contributes to environmental conservation but also highlights Zamboanga City’s active role in promoting sustainability and biodiversity.
