Mayor John Dalipe Commends NCCA for National Arts Month Celebration

Mayor John Dalipe expressed his appreciation to the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) for bringing the National Arts Month (NAM) celebration to Zamboanga City, hosting four out of seven committees for parallel seminar-workshops from March 7 to 9.

Mayor Dalipe actively participated in the NCCA Committee on Architecture and Allied Arts (NCAAA) event titled Saan Ka Lulugar (SKL) 2024: Resiliency in the Built and Designed Environment, held on Friday. This series of seminars and workshops extends the discourse on architecture and allied arts that commenced in 2021.

Primarily attended by students and the youth sector, the SKL workshops held at the Grand Astoria Hotel covered topics such as environmental planning, Filipino Architecture Model Making, Luntiang Pook, and Upcycling.

The SKL event is just one of the many workshops taking place simultaneously in the city as part of the National Arts Month celebration. Other workshops focus on literary arts, visual arts, and cinema.

Zamboanga City stands as one of only two sites in Mindanao selected by the NCCA to host NAM activities, showcasing the city’s vibrant cultural scene and its significance in promoting arts and creativity in the region.
