Mayor John Dalipe Honored for Commitment to Human Rights and Rehabilitation at Stakeholders Summit

The Politiko and Partners Celebrated for Human Rights Advocacy at ZCJMD Stakeholders Summit.

Mayor John Dalipe, alongside partners and supporters, received well-deserved recognition at the 1st Stakeholders Summit organized by the Zamboanga City Jail – Male Dormitory (ZCJMD) on January 29. The event highlighted their invaluable assistance and unwavering support in ensuring the welfare and protection of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) while promoting dignity and human rights within places of detention.

In his keynote address, Mayor Dalipe commended the commendable initiatives of ZCJMD under the leadership of Jail Warden JSupt. Xavier Awican Solda. Notably, the jail has achieved distinction as the first BJMP Jail in the Philippines with a madrasah and a track record of producing graduates.

Mayor Dalipe expressed his appreciation for the tireless efforts of ZCJMD in the well-being, rehabilitation, and reintegration of persons deprived of liberty. He emphasized, “Your tireless efforts in ensuring the well-being, rehabilitation, and reintegration of persons deprived of liberty exemplify the transformative power of compassion and understanding…the Dalipe administration stands in full support of the BJMP leadership and administration in fulfilling its mission and vision.”

Accompanying Mayor Dalipe at the summit were City Social Welfare Development Officer Socorro Rojas and City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite. The offices of these officials were also duly recognized by ZCJMD for their significant contributions to the cause. Mayor Dalipe concluded his address by encouraging ongoing collaboration, stating, “Together, let us continue to explore innovative strategies and collaborative initiatives that will empower and uplift those under the care of our justice system.”
