Mayor John Dalipe Plays Key Role in CSOP Policy Development

Mayor John Dalipe of Zamboanga City takes on an increasingly vital role in shaping community-oriented policing strategies, as emphasized by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) during a recent meeting at City Hall.

Joined by OIC-Zamboanga City Police Office Col. Kimberly Molitas and other municipal officials, Mayor Dalipe engaged with NAPOLCOM-9 Acting Regional Director Atty. Pablito Abad Jr. and Asst. Regional Director Atty. Alexis De Lima to discuss the enhanced responsibilities of local chief executives (LCEs) in policy formulation under Republic Act 8155.

Highlighting the significance of Mayor Dalipe’s involvement, NAPOLCOM officials underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between local leaders, law enforcement agencies, and the community in implementing the Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) system. These efforts are aimed at promoting community-oriented policing and crime prevention strategies across the country.

Attending the orientation alongside Mayor Dalipe were Councilor Jordan Evangelista, City Administrator Wendel Sotto, and Executive Assistant and Secretary to the Mayor William Mariga, demonstrating a unified commitment to advancing safer and more resilient communities.
