Mayor Lechonsito in S. Korea for PPP benchmarking

Tacurong City Mayor Joseph George Lechonsito, along with three other local chief executives in the Philippines, has joined other mayors from the Asia-Pacific Region for a benchmarking activity on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Sustainable Development Goals in Seoul, South Korea.

Lechonsito is with the other Philippine delegations from Iloilo City, Roxas City, and Muntinlupa City in the event in Seoul on May 23-25.

The League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) sponsored the participation of the four Philippine cities in the event.

In the gathering, the city government said Lechonsito presented Tacurong City’s profile, current development programs, and his proposed projects under PPP.

The mayor also participated in various technical sessions. Workshops and city action planning also formed part of the three-day event.

The local government said Lechonsito hopes that his travel to Seoul will translate to major PPP projects in Tacurong.

“I am hopeful that with this endeavor, I can expand our city’s network with various international institutions, and subsequently attract potential investors to come and invest in our city,” he said.

The CityNet, an international association of urban stakeholders committed to sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region, co-organized the event, together with Seoul Digital Foundation.
