Mayor Pimentel vows to pursue eco-friendly programs in Tandag City

Tandag City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel has vowed that her administration will continue to implement eco-friendly initiatives to promote sustainability and ensure a cleaner and greener future for the city.

She made the statement during the Earth Day celebration Saturday, April 20.

The city government joined the Diocese of Tandag, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Education-Tandag City Division, and various other partners including Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, local barangays, academic institutions, business sectors, and civic groups, Tandaganons in the series of events aimed at promoting environmental awareness and conservation.

The activities included Zumba session at VLP Sr. Boulevard, followed by a Coastal and River Clean-up across Barangays Bongtud, Dagocdoc, San Agustin Sur, Telaje, Bag-ong Lungsod, & Mabua, Declogging of Drainage and Sewerage Systems, Larong Pinoy, Poster Making Contest, Slogan Making Contest, and Quiz Bowl.

A lecture series on pressing environmental issues and the imperative need for collective action was also held.

“The extensive collaboration witnessed in Tandag City exemplifies the power of unified efforts towards a common goal – safeguarding our planet for future generations,” the city government said.
