Mayor Rabat, PhilHealth ink deal on mental health care package for Mati City residents

The Mati City government, led by Mayor Michelle N. Rabat, has signed an agreement with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to offer a mental health care package to Matinian members.
With the partnership with PhilHealth, Rabat said the city government could cater to more patients in the long run.
She thanked the government-run agency for its willingness to partner with Mati.
“Access to mental health care is a significant challenge, not only in our country but globally. Here in the City of Mati, our journey to address this vital health need has been filled with numerous challenges and sacrifices,” said Mati City Health Officer Dr. Benhur Catbagan Jr.
“However, with the unwavering support of our esteemed Mayor Michelle Rabat and all our collaborating stakeholders, we have reached a point where sustainable financing for mental health care is now possible, thanks to our valued partners at PHIC,” he said.
The city government noted that PhilHealth offers two packages for its members worth P9,000 and P16,000 per patient.
The signing ceremony was held on Friday, May 24, in a hotel in Mati.
