Mayor Rabat welcomes DOT chief in Mati City

Mayor Michelle N. Rabat has welcomed Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco in Mati City.

Rabat accompanied the tourism chief at the sea turtle hatchery in the Menzi area in Dahican Beach on Monday, May 27.

Frasco was in Mati to distribute cash assistance to displaced workers during the onslaught of shearlline and LPA in the city and Davao Oriental.

Some 725 tourism workers in the province received P9,960 each under the Bayanihan sa Bukas na Pag-asa para sa Turismo (BBMT) program.

BBMT is a collaboration between the Department of Tourism and the Department of Social Welfare and Development that aims to provide livelihood opportunities and help tourism workers affected by disasters.
