Mayor Uy leads MOA signing on IGACOS CLUP revision, plastic waste recycling management

The Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) government, led by Mayor All David T. Uy, has led the signing of the memorandum of agreement for the comprehensive land use plan revision and the plastic waste recycling management.

The signing ceremony, which was also attended by the partner agencies, took place on Monday, May 20, at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

The Samal Public Information Office (PIO) said part of the agreement between the IGACOS and the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) XI was the provision of technical assistance in the formulation of the city’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Zoning Ordinance (ZO) and in complying with its requirements.

Uy expressed his gratitude to the partner agencies for their desire to help the city translate its endeavors into a fulfilled vision of inclusive, sustainable development.

“Ito po yung direksyon ng Samal. To have a sustainable development wherein balanse po. Alam kong napakahirap gawin na ibalanse ang development and environment pero we, in Samal, we are trying our best to do it. And with your help, we hope and pray that magagawa po natin kasi hindi lang to para sa amin, para rin ito sa mga future generation of Samaleños,” the mayor said.
