Mayor Uy leads send off of security forces for Semana Santa observance in IGACOS

Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) Mayor Al David T. Uy has led the send-off ceremony for the security forces to be deployed in the city to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of the Holy Week.

Philippine National Police (PNP)-IGACOS, Tactical Operations Group (TOG) XI-Philippine Air Force, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Samal, BFP-Samal Auxiliary, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-IGACOS, PCG-IGACOS Auxillary, Task Force-Samal, PNP-Maritime Police, K9 Units, Tourist Police Unit (TPU), 514 Kabalikat CiviCom, Army Reservist IGACOS Chapter, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), City Public Order and Safety Office, and City Investment and Tourism Office attended the ceremony Monday, April 3.

Uy expressed gratitude to the participating local and national offices for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the security of both locals and tourists who will be spending the long holidays on the island.

He also reminded everyone to always consider protecting themselves, especially now that people experience extreme heat and sudden rain.

“Rest assured that the city government will always be there to assist you. So again, magtinabangay lang ta sa pagbantay sa atoang pinalanggang isla. Expect a lot of tourists, visitors to enter Samal because it’s holy week; walay holy week sa atoa,” Uy added.
