Mayor Yngwie Hero B. Ecleo and Vice Mayor Ruben J D. Zuniega, together with the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO) headed by MSWD Officer Joy Parajes and her staff, led a program at the Barangay Wilson Gymnasium in San Jose, Dinagat Islands. The event was in line with the theme of the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, which aims to create profound changes in the economy and social welfare to generate more job opportunities and reduce poverty by efficiently managing the economy towards a sustainable and globally competitive society.

The plan also emphasizes the need for inclusive development, creating an environment that provides equal opportunities for all Filipinos and equips them with the necessary skills to participate fully in the global economy.

During the event, attendees were delighted to witness the program, especially the women who were supported by their husbands. Several women’s associations presented their dance talents, and each barangay had its candidates for princess and queen. The ERPAT Association of San Jose also gave a tribute dance to women, and the Sangguniang Bayan members performed a Kuratcha dance.

The highlight of the event was the farewell walk of the reigning queen of 2021, who passed the crown to the newly crowned queen of Barangay Poblacion for the year 2023. The event ended with the awarding of a Plaque of Commendation to the San Jose Women Hope for One Movement (SJWHOM) in recognition of their service and support to the successful implementation of programs by MSWD Officer Joy.
