Mga panuntunan dapat sundin! Mt. Apo open again for hiking, trekking – Kidapawan City LGU

The Kidapawan City government said Mt. Apo is again open for hiking and trekking activities.

This was after the Mt. Apo Natural Park Protected Areas Management Board (MANP-PAMB) closed the country’s highest peak for one month due to El Niño.

The Kidapawan City Tourism Office (CTO) has issued the regulations that need to be followed by the climbers and trekkers, particularly those who would pass the Mandangan Trail in the city.

Among them include the need to cook only at designated cooking area on the base camp that is safe from any fire incidents; that only guides and porters must do cooking preparation for the meantime; and that glass bottles are strictly not allowed.

If there will be no rain within seven days, the Kidapawan CTO will immediately suspend all the climbing and trekking activities and bookings. MANP-PAMB will decide when the suspension will be lifted.
