Mindanao bizcon to discuss mining opportunities

Mining and its immense potential to become a major economic driver for Mindanao will take center stage in the upcoming 33rd Mindanao Business Conference in General Santos City.

The business conference, scheduled this September, carries the theme “Unlocking Potentials & Opportunities in Mindanao.”

According to the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (GSCCCII), discussions will focus on the potential of mining, agriculture, and the energy industries to propel long-term economic growth in the region.

GSCCCII President Miguel Rene Dominguez earlier said that over 1,000 entrepreneurs are expected to attend this year’s biggest gathering of business leaders in Mindanao.

Data from the Mines and Geoscience Bureau (MGB) showed that Mindanao is endowed with vast, untapped mineral resources, such as copper and gold – two of the critical minerals to energy transition.
