Nearly 28K police personnel, force multipliers to be deployed in Davao City during Holy Week, Ramadan

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is ready to deploy almost 28,000 police personnel and auxiliary and force multipliers to ensure a safe and orderly observance of the Holy Week and Ramadan.

DCPO Spokesperson PCapt. Hazel Tuazon said that from March 22 to March 31, a total of 27,997 cops and force multipliers will be assigned to places of worship and areas of convergence in the city.

“We will deploy them to churches, to mosques for our Muslim brothers and sisters, to the airport, inland resorts, sea ports, in the terminals, and other tourist spots here in Davao City,” she said.

Tuazon also reminded the public to adhere to the standard security regulations enforced during special events, prohibiting the bringing of jackets, backpacks, sharp objects, non-transparent water bottles and other prohibited items.

For those planning to go on a trip during the long holidays, she advised families and individuals to secure their homes and leave no chance for burglars.

She said the DCPO is targeting to achieve zero crime incident during the Holy Week and Ramadan observances similar to the recent Araw ng Dabaw festivities.

To achieve this, the official urged the cooperation and vigilance of everyone.
