The Misamis Occidental government under the leadership of Governor Henry Oaminal has released financial assistance to 885 college students in the province.

The aid was granted Monday, March 18, under the “Asenso Pamilya: One Family, One Professional Program.”

“The distribution was made possible through the tireless effort and initiative of Gov. Henry Oaminal,” the provincial government said.

The recipients came from the municipalities of Jimenez with 55 grantees, Tudela with 50, Clarin with 50, Sinacaban with 50, DonVic with 50, OLT Ozamiz with 54, Bonifacio with 106, Tangub City with 270, Sapang Dalaga with 100, Baliangao with 50, and Conception with 50 grantees.

The provincial government said the program aims to help students finish their college degrees and facilitate employment in the future.

Each of the beneficiaries received P15,000 for the January to March period of the second semester of School Year 2024, it said.

The Asenso Pamilya Program provides monthly stipends of P5,000 throughout the semester of the school year, helping students cover their education-related expenses.

“This initiative is a beacon of hope for students who aspire to make a difference in their lives and communities,” the provincial government said.
