P27M inilaan! Mayor Dalipe assures full support for Zamboanga City’s hosting of 2024 regional athletic meet

The Zamboanga City government led by Mayor John Dalipe has allotted P27 million to ensure the successful hosting of the 2024 Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Meet.

The week-long games set in April will be held at the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex (JEMSC) in Baliwasan. This will be the first time for the city to host the event after 18 years.

Dalipe joined representatives from the Department of Education (DEPED-9) and the ZPRAA Technical Working Group Monday morning, January 29, for the first of the two-day Technical, Coordination and Planning Conference at the HRDC Hall at the Zamboanga East Central School.

During the meeting, the mayor cited the need to reinvigorate regional sports competitions in a bid to improve Zamboanga Peninsula’s national ranking, currently lodged at number 16.

ZPRAA Meet is a sports competition among public elementary and secondary student-athletes from Zamboanga Peninsula composed of eight divisions – Dapitan City, Dipolog City, Isabela City, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga City.
