P62.5 milyong ari-arian nasira! Mayor Dalipe seeks thorough probe into fireworks warehouse blast in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe has ordered a thorough investigation into an explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Tetuan that left five people dead.

The local chief executive also reiterated his order to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to provide all the necessary assistance and support to affected individuals and families, particularly those who perished in the incident.

The blast on Saturday afternoon, June 29, at Marquez Drive, Tetuan damaged an estimated P62.5 million worth of property.

The city government, citing the report of the City Fire Department, said the storage and a residential house were destroyed. Also, 15 other structures were partially damaged during the explosion.

Authorities identified the fatalities from the tragic incident as Roly Limen, 38 years old; Miriam Daiz Gregorio, 37; Arden Limen; 4; Erica Mae Lacastesantos, 18; and Jonalyn Enriquez Ramos, more or less 19-20 years old.

The local government said the City Fire Department reported that 24 individuals were injured. However, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) recorded 38 injuries, 30 of them suffered minor wounds and eight with serious injuries.

The CSWDO continues the conduct of assessment and profiling of the victims, the city government said.
