Pabillaran gov’t initiates training on camp management, IDPs’ protection in Malaybalay City

The Malaybalay City government under the leadership of Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran has conducted a 3-day comprehensive training session on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection.

The activity held recently at Dahilayan Forest Park, Manolo Fortich was spearheaded by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

It aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills for effective camp management, especially in real-life scenarios, the city government said.

Some 28 individuals from the City Mayor’s Office (CMO), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), City Health Office (CHO), City Veterinary Office, City Agriculture Office, City Engineering Office, Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine National Police (PNP), City Administrator’s Office, Liga ng mga Barangay, and the CSWDO participated in the event.

“The training focused on identifying key activities throughout the camp life cycle—before, during, and after the displacement of families—to ensure the delivery of essential services to IDPs. Moreover, it aimed to define the roles, responsibilities, and lines of coordination among camp management personnel to enhance their performance in crisis situations,” the city government said.
