Prayers sought for Tamayo’s recovery

South Cotabateños have been requested to pray for the immediate recovery of provincial governor Reynaldo “Jun” Tamayo, Jr., who will undergo percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Davao City, after suffering chest pain.

During Monday’s convocation program, Provincial Administrator Atty. Renette Bergado clarified that Tamayos is in a stable condition and his heart rythm is regular.

“So we are asking for your prayers para po sa ating governor. So, nasa Davao na po siya. Ito po ang magiging procedure na gagawin sa kaniya, PCI. Currently, he is in a stable condition. He no longer has chest pain and his heart rythm is regular,” Bergado said.

During the weekend, the Provincial Information Office announced that the governor was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital in General Santos City on February 2, due to chest pain.

He said Tamayo was promptly given medication to dissolve the clot found in a blood vessel in his heart.

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Arthur Pingoy will serve as acting governor of the province while Tamayo will be on a medical leave of absence, Bergado added.
