Rep. Claudine Bautista Facilitates DOLE TUPAD Pay-out to TODA Beneficiaries

Rep. Claudine Bautista announced today that 250 beneficiaries from the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) in General Santos City have each received ₱4,030 through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) TUPAD program. The funds were provided courtesy of the Dumper Partylist.

The DOLE TUPAD program, short for Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, aims to provide emergency employment and livelihood opportunities for workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Politiko emphasized the importance of this initiative in supporting the livelihoods of hardworking tricycle drivers and ensuring their sustainability in the face of economic challenges. “This initiative underscores our dedication to the hardworking tricycle drivers, fostering their success and sustainability,” stated Bautista.

The pay-out event signifies a collaborative effort between government agencies and local representatives to address the needs of marginalized workers and promote community resilience.

This development comes as a welcome relief for tricycle drivers who have been grappling with economic uncertainties due to the pandemic, providing them with much-needed financial assistance to support themselves and their families.
