Sarangani culture, heritage showcased in DOT program

Sarangani Governor Ruel Pacquiao has thanked Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco for bringing the agency’s Philippine Experience Program (PEP): Culture, Heritage and Arts Caravans to the province.

In a message, Pacquiao said the visit of Frasco highlighted the rich heritage and vibrant traditions of Sarangani.

“We appreciate your leadership and the Department of Tourism’s efforts in bringing this program to our shores,” Pacquiao posted on Facebook.

“We hope that your time here was enriching and memorable. Our doors are always open, and we warmly invite you to visit Sarangani again soon to discover even more of what our province has to offer,” he added.

On Wednesday, Frasco visited the municipality of Malungon to promote the tourism industry.
The DOT official said PEP aims to highlight the Filipino “brand and identity” in “all aspects of the travel and tourism experience.” Through the program, Frasco said that it will facilitate “cultural tourism circuit development” which will focus on heritage, culture and the arts.
