South Cotabato farmer groups get P65.4M farm equipment, machinery

The South Cotabato government under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has turned over to 26 farmer associations farm equipment and machinery worth P65.4 million.

“This is part of our ongoing commitment to support our farmers’ needs,” the provincial government said.

Since 2019, the provincial government said a total of P225.7 million has been earmarked to empower the agriculture sector.

This is under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Mechanization Component, it said.

“This initiative, fueled by the tariff imposed under the Rice Tariffication Law, underscores our dedication to modernize farming practices and boost productivity,” it said.

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist led the turnover ceremony.
