‘Sumosobra na talaga’: Castro slams China’s use of water cannons vs PH vessel

By Billy Begas

House Deputy Minority leader and ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro strongly condemned the China Coast Guard (CCG) for once again using water cannons against a Philippine vessel en route to Ayungin Shoal for a Rotation and Resupply (RoRe) mission for the soldiers stationed in BRP Sierra Madre.

Castro said the concerned committee of the House of Representatives could conduct hearings during the Holy Week break.

The Philippine vessel Unaizah May 4 (UM4) suffered heavy damage due to the continued blasting of water cannons from two CCG ships, according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The UM4 was contracted by the AFP to bring supplies to the soldiers stationed in BRP Sierra Madre.
