Surigao City gov’t kicks of Women’s Month celebration

The Surigao City government under the leadership of Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II has kicked off the celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month.

Led by the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO), the event held on Monday, March 4, was joined by Vice Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra, city councilors, and all employees of the local government.

The city government said Dumlao’s leadership stands behind the campaign with the theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan.”

The CSWDO together with the Surigao City Council of Women prepared a series of events to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in Surigao City.

The activities include the Election and Oathtaking of Women’s Federated Officers, the Purple Corner Contest, a Variety Show, and the prestigious Dyosa ng Tahanan pageant.

“With unwavering determination, we envision a future where every woman can thrive, liberated from constraints,” the city government said.
