Tampakan small businesses receive aid from SMI

Committed to foster sustainable community growth in its host communities, mining firm Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) on Thursday extended assistance to small sari-sari store owners in Barangay Poblacion in Tampakan, South Cotabato.

SMI allocated P100,000 fund for its Corporate Social Responsibility Program aimed to elevate local entrepreneurs. It said the beneficiaries received livelihood aid worth P10,000.

Meanwhile, barangay Poblacion led by chairperson Jose Nilo Vargas expressed gratitude to SMI for helping their community.

“Grateful and honored to announce the Community Enterprises Project by Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI). We extend our heartfelt thanks to SMI for this valuable partnership,” the barangay local government posted on Facebook.

Aside from sari-sari store owners, SMI also announced extending P120,000 financial assistance to balut, ice cream, and kakanin vendors in Tampakan.
