Uy admin breaks ground for P50-M Davao Oriental training center for farmers, agri workers

The Davao Oriental government under the leadership of Governor Niño Uy has conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for the P50-million Davao Oriental Development Center.

Located at the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) Compound in Barangay Matiao, Mati City, the provincial government said the state-of-the-art facility was designed to serve as a hub knowledge and innovation.

The center aims to enrich farmers’ and agriculture workers’ understanding and application of advanced farming practices.

“Beyond being a mere administrative space, this facility is designed for public utility, serving as a comprehensive training center for farmers and agriculture workers,” PAO Head Edito Sumile said.

The Davao Oriental Development Centre (DODC) will serve as the hub for Farming Technology Transfer, Farmers Information, Agricultural Extension Services, and the Office of Different Commodity Programs.

Uy promised to continue to support agricultural advancement for his constituents.

Represented by PCO Consultant Dashiel Indelible Sr. in the event, the governor cited the provincial government’s resolve to safeguard the long-term welfare of Davao Oriental’s residents, particularly in ensuring food and agricultural security amidst adversities such as flooding, typhoons, or conflicts.
