Zamboanga City LGU’s preparation for 87th Charter Day in full swing

The Zamboanga City government led by Mayor John Dalipe has lined up various activities for the city’s 87th Charter Day dubbed “Dia de Zamboanga” on February 26.

The activities include the Local Achiever Awards, which is now accepting nominations, for the different categories: Top Local Corporate Taxpayer and Local Individual Taxpayer [based on the business taxes passed to the City Treasurer], Orgullo de Zamboanga Premiar [Highest Award], Sports, Culture & Arts, Public Service, Community Service [Barangay/CSO], Academe [Individual], Academe [Institution], Investment Promotion and Tourism-Oriented Establishment.

The Run-for-a-Cause was held on February 4 with Muruk Elementary School as the beneficiary.

The Cheer Dance Competition is slated for February 21 at the city coliseum. Contestants will be competing in Open Category and High School Category. The Hip-Hop Competition will also be held on the same date and venue.

The Zamboanga Bird Festival will run from February 19 to 20, while the Chabacano Film Festival will be on February 22.

The Dia de Zamboanga Marathon will be on February 25 and Savores on February 23.

The city government said that more activities will be announced in the coming days.
