Zamboanga City’s GIA Council sets plans, programs for 2024

The Zamboanga Government, Industries and Academe (GIA) Council led by Mayor John Dalipe has convened to outline the plans and programs for implementation this year.

The meeting, which was attended by representatives from 14 agencies, was held Wednesday, January 24, at the City Hall conference room, the city government said.

The city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) takes over as the GIA Council Secretariat that will provide administrative and logistical support for the Zamboanga GIA Council.

Representing Dalipe, PESO Manager Jerico Jan Bustamante presided the meeting that was highlighted by the allocation of P5 million that will cover logistical needs, as well as meetings and activities planned for the council, the city government said. The funds however, are subject to proper auditing and accounting procedures.

Also present during the meeting were Committee Chair of Education and GIA’s Chairperson Councilor Rogelio “Gerky” Valesco, Roberto Valerio representing the Industrial Group of Zamboanga, and representatives from the Department of Education, Ecozone, and several universities and colleges of the city.

Also, discussed were issues regarding the composition of Technical Working Groups (TWG) and other concerns.
