Zamboangueños vaccinated vs leptospirosis

A total of 259 Zamboangueños have benefited from the the Quick Response Against Leptospirosis activity held in Zamboanga City.

The Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga City (PRC-ZC) Chapter, in partnership with the city government, conducted the program in Sta. Maria, which was affected by the September 17 flooding.

Held at the Sta. Maria Elementary School covered court Monday, September 18, the activity served flood victims from Sunshine Drive, Brillantes Compound, Purok 4 and Villa in Sta. Maria.

Volunteers from the PRC-ZC, with the assistance from Sta. Maria barangay Health Center personnel, distributed doxycycline antibiotics as well as administered tetanus toxoid vaccines to individuals who were exposed to flood waters.

The activity was in partnership with the Tzu Chi Zamboanga, with support from the Australian Aid and was headed by PRC-ZC Chapter Administrator Joseline Fernandez.
