The Lamitan City government conducted a Bomb Awareness Orientation as part of emergency response and local security.
The session on Wednesday, August 26, at the Lamitan City Gymnasium, brought together the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) personnel to sharpen their skills in handling potential threat scenarios and managing emergency protocols, the city government said.
Experts from the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (PECU) – Basilan led the orientation, guiding participants through threat identification and practical safety measures.
The PECU team conducted a controlled explosion simulation near the venue to give responders hands-on exposure to blast protocols and proper distance safety.
Through regular capacity-building activities like this, the city government said this ensures that responders are always ready to keep Lamiteños safe and secure.
