The Kidapawan City government, under Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista, recognized the young Kidapaweño athletes who bagged medals in the competitions during the recent Kadayawan Festival in Davao City.
Jillian Alvarez and Alexis Sheme Gido brought home two gold medals in the 4x100M relay, while JM Padilla won a silver medal in the 110M hurdles event.
“Gawa ng karangalang inuwi ng mga kabataan ay kinilala ito ng Lokal na Pamahalaan kasabay ng Convocation Program ng City Government,” the local government said.
The program was held on Monday, August 24.
The city government also recognized the young athletes’ coaches in the same event.
The Evangelista government expressed hope that more young people would pursue sports.
