Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza convened the Hybrid Electronic Road Train (HERT) Technical Working Group on Aug. 17, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol Rooftop in Amas, Kidapawan City, to finalize operational details for transferring the eco-friendly mass transport system from General Santos City to the Province of Cotabato. During the planning session, the committee outlined the end-to-end mobilization strategy, including personnel recruitment, specialized driver and technician training, and the drafting of a comprehensive Manual of Operations. The working group also reviewed regulatory compliance and inter-agency coordination with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Department of Tourism, and the Regional Development Council (RDC) to secure the necessary resolutions for full route operationalization.
The public transport initiative reflects the provincial government’s proactive strategy to introduce sustainable, modern mass transit solutions and improve provincial connectivity. By establishing inter-agency partnerships and ensuring strict compliance with national transport regulations, the Politiko aims to provide commuters with eco-friendly, reliable, and cost-effective transportation while simultaneously driving local tourism and regional economic activity across Cotabato Province.
