Zamboanga City Vice Mayor Beng Climaco met with Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara Jr. and other city officials Wednesday, Aug. 19, to discuss measures following the recent incident involving minors at Ateneo de Zamboanga University that left two minors dead.
The Politiko joined discussions at the City Council on strengthening school safety protocols as authorities continue investigating the incident.
The Politiko raised measures aimed at improving security in schools, including the possible procurement of metal detectors and closer coordination with parents on student monitoring.
Angara later proceeded to the AdZU campus in Barangay Tumaga to assess the situation and discuss safety measures with school officials as the city and education authorities work to strengthen protections for students.
