The Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) government, under the leadership of Mayor Lemuel T. Reyes, has conducted the final interview of the 116 incoming first-year students who passed the City Scholarship Program Examination.
The interview, held on Monday, August 17, and spearheaded by the City Mayor’s Office-Public Employment Services Division, served as the final stage of the selection process for the City Scholarship Program.
“From the 116 qualified applicants, 59 deserving scholars will be selected to receive P10,000.00 financial support per semester,” the city government said.
This is in accordance with City Ordinance No. 485, Series of 2026, “An Ordinance Amending the City Ordinance No. 2020-327, Otherwise known as the IGCS Comprehensive Scholarship Ordinance of 2020.”
“To ensure a comprehensive evaluation, PESO invited department heads and representatives from various offices of the Local Government Unit of the Island Garden City of Samal to serve as members of the interview panel,” the local government said.
